Remember back a couple months ago I shared a little Sneak Peek of a sweet little boys Nursery that I had just completed? You can see the images here. Well I’m happy to say that my client’s precious bundle has finally arrived and they are happily enjoying their new space together!!
I have recently had the pleasure of working with a young couple to design and decorate their new home in Atlanta and I thought I would share a little of the progress. We started on the Main Level Living Room, Dining Room and Foyer.
I had the amazing privilege of attending Tobi Fairley’s NEWEST camp, The Journey to Getting Published. It was three days jam packed full of content and events. Tobi herself not only shared her journey, tips and best practices but we also had the once in a career chance to hear valuable confidential information from Krissa Rossbund, Ronda Rice Carman, Nancy Noland and Sandy Gilbert-Freidus.
As you may or may not know, I attended Kate Smith’s Sensational Color Training Class last week in Atlanta and I came away with some great information. I’ll be sharing some of what I learned here on my Blog over the next couple of weeks.
I find that most of my clients struggle when it comes to seeing or choosing color. Sometimes that is part of the reason why they hire me. They can’t visualize, they don’t know what the outcome will be and they are a little afraid.
This has been an exciting week for us! We installed a sweet Boy Nursery for one of our long time repeat clients. The room turned out to be precious and soft and everything that Momma-to-be could have ever dreamed of…..she absolutely loved it!!
Let me preface this by saying I am not an Interiors Stylist, I am an Interior Designer who designs real spaces for real clients. I love styling and accessorizing and I find that whole profession quite fascinating. I think styling interiors could be my dream job if I didn’t already have one!
Designing spaces of course includes accessorizing but styling for photography is a whole other story. With every photo shoot I complete, I gain more knowledge, tips, and confidence. And as my goals for 2013 state, I’ll be doing a lot more styling and photo shoots this year…..so stay tuned!
The week before Christmas we were still busy installing furniture, hanging window treatments and getting our clients’ homes ready for the holidays. We had the urgent task of hanging three art gallery walls in a pinch before guests arrived for my clients company Christmas party. There was no time for planning, my installers were booked or on vacation so we jumped in and attacked the challenge ourselves. I’m a “not afraid to get my hands dirty” kind of gal!
Happy Holiday Season everyone! I absolutely love this time of year….all of the decorating, the smells, and spending more time with family and friends! I’m hoping to take a bit more time off this year to spend with my kids and family….that’s the plan and I cannot wait!
“You should be surrounded by the things that tell the story of your life arranged in a beautiful way.” Kathryn M. Ireland
I was thrilled when a little surprise was delivered to my door step earlier this week. I knew Kathryn M. Ireland’s new book, Timeless Interiors had hit the book stores and I’ve been wanting to pick up a copy. My heavy project load and holiday preparations have held me up from getting to my local book store so imagine my delight when the publisher sent me a copy to enjoy! AND the best part is…..
