It is finally time for the BIG reveal. My Room Service Atlanta project is complete and I could not be happier with the experience, the support, the generosity and the outcome! This was my first time partnering with RSA and I was blown away by the hard work and talent of all involved, from the other designers to the tradespeople donating their valuable time and to the vendors who gave and gave! Please see my list below of the wonderful support and donations that made this all possible for one very deserving girl!
Every design project, big or small, that I approach is worthy of a well thought out Design Concept and plan AND this project was no exception! Inspiring, Happy and Whimsical…..those are the words that I wanted front of mind upon completion of my Room Service Atlanta project. I have hopes that this room will INSPIRE and bring HAPPINESS to the very deserving girl who will soon occupy this room.
Do you remember this room BEFORE…..
A little rough I know and in need of some major TLC but I was up for the challenge. And to be quite honest, I was a little afraid even though I could see the potential. I had big ideas and big plans almost immediately!!
And here is the space AFTER…..
I hope as you look into the room, my design concept comes through loud and clear. The color palette that includes yellow and purple are very HAPPY colors, the sweeping floral design found in the drapery fabric is WHIMSICAL and what could be more INSPIRING than the constant reminder of world travel, getting out there, leaving a legacy, making a name for yourself, and changing the world! (hence all of the world globes)
The Dwell Studio drapery fabric donated by Robert Allen really set the tone and direction for the room. You can see the color and pattern concept repeated throughout the entire space, from the area rug and chandelier to the natural stone Kitchen back splash.
This amazing photograph taken and donated by Christina Wedge is absolutely perfect and works beautifully to INSPIRE and dream!
The Triptych artwork created and donated by my friend and artist Melissa Jones is HAPPY and WHYMSICAL and a perfect match to the Dwell Studio Robert Allen drapery fabric.
The custom color matched lamps were a perfect addition to the room and were donated by my friend Johnna Dobbs of Mastercraft Lamps! Can you all see the repeat of circles throughout as well?!
The amazing paint job was completely donated (labor and materials) by my painter Tony Lopez. His work is impeccable and I cannot thank him and his crew enough. The cabinet doors and drawers were donated my Bell Custom Cabinets in Alpharetta.
The gorgeous marble tile was donated by Traditions in Tile. I don’t think it gets any better, it truly made the Kitchenette!!
I just love this amazing flat weave rug donated by Surya. It is a perfect complement to the round storage ottomans found at Target and it repeats the tile back splash pattern.
I cannot say enough about the amazing vendors and donations that came pouring in. A BIG Thank You goes out to:
Robert Allen: For donating the Dwell Studio fabric used in the drapery panels, accent pillow and bed sham. Pattern: Freja Color: Amethyst
Tony Lopez Painting: For donating your valuable time and Sherwin Williams paint to completely transform this entire space. (Contact me is you need his number, he is the BEST painter in Atlanta).
Surya: For donating a fabulous rug. I just love their line of flat weaves! Collection: Fallon Color: Dark Chocolate and Ivory
Traditions in Tile: For donating the beautiful natural stone back splash tile that completely brought the dated Kitchenette to life.
Bell Kitchen & Bath Studios: For custom fabricating and donating new door and drawer fronts for our Kitchen cabinets.
Mastercraft Lamps: For custom matching lamps for our room and rushing them out in time for installation. Johnna Dobbs is the mastermind behind this amazing company. You have most likely seen her lamps in places like Target, Home Goods and beyond.
Lasconi: For donating your time and fabricating the beautiful drapery panels, sweet coverlet, bed skirt and pillows. And you did it in record time! Contact Lasconi if you need a high quality, quick and easy to work with workroom (a very unique combination of qualities)!! They always deliver!
Award Fabrics: For donating fantastic fabrics for the bedding, coverlet and bed skirt, for the chair seat, and the DIY framed artwork. Always a joy to visit Award Fabrics, it is a great showroom and a hidden gem!
Melissa Jones: For donating your time to create the amazing 3 piece (triptych) artwork panels that perfectly coordinate with the Robert Allen drapery fabric. Melissa is a fantastic faux painter, portrait artist and basically anything artistic you need. (Contact me is you need her number, she is a JOY to work with).
Christina Wedge Photography: For printing, mounting and donating one of her gorgeous photographs for over the bed. She took this photo of a Ferris Wheel in Berlin and it is absolutely stunning. It could NOT be any more PERFECT! I just love it. And for donating some of her time to take the amazing AFTER shots of the room. She always makes my work look great!
Kangas Construction: For donating your time and professional skills to install new lighting, hang cabinet doors, install hardware and anything else that was needed!
SK and Associates: For generously donating your valuable time to work on the plumbing in my space.
A HUGE Thank You to my design friends for their generous monetary donations, without you, the small details and finishing touches would not have been possible!
I’d also like to take a minute to thank my wonderful husband Mark. I absolutely, without a doubt, could not have done this without him. He helped gather donated items, lifted/moved/packed/and unpacked loads of things for the room. He went antiquing in the rain to find a few pieces for the room, he listened to all of my ideas and offered support, he picked out the fabulous back splash tile (yep) and he was a tremendous help on installation day, he was the other half to my team and I am so grateful!
All professional AFTER photography was taken by my wonder photographer Christina Wedge.
Here are a few fun (unprofessional) photos that I took along the way…..I hope you have enjoyed the process and project as much as I have. You can find these as well as others on Instagram @JenReynolds_
