WOW! What a week this has been. I didn’t know when I set my goals for this year how I would get there or what path I would take, I have a long way to go and so much work ahead but this week has definitely been a step in the right direction AND I have so many people to THANK!! I could not do anything of this alone.

I am so grateful and blessed for all of the support my family and friends continue to give. I am surrounded by an amazing and talented group of friends in the design community….I am one lucky girl!!

Yesterday the winners were announce for the Olioboard competition I’ve been a part of for the last couple of weeks. We were challenged to create a room ALL ABOUT STRIPES, you can see all of the amazing entries HERE. Two winners were chosen out of the TOP 25. My supportive family and friends first helped to vote me into the TOP 25 and then the three talented judges picked my entry as one of their favorites to win the prize!!

FAMILY AND FRIENDS

First and foremost I have to give the biggest virtual hug and thank you to all of my family and friends. This could not have been possible without your continued support, encouragement and daily votes! YOU single handedly cast 609 votes for my OLIOBOARD entry “Crazy for Stripes”. YOU moved me into the TOP 25 and helped to put me in 2nd place out of 420 entries. I am so blessed to be a part of an amazing design community that helps, supports (and votes for) each other.

THE PRIZE

I was one of the lucky ones chosen to win a ticket to Tobi Fairley’s “The Journey to Getting Published” Design Camp!! A three day event that is sure to change my business and my life. A camp 100% devoted to The Journey to Getting Published. From project planning and photo styling all the way to maximizing press and publicity exposure when your projects are on news stands, both virtual and print!

THE JUDGES

I want to send a very special “THANK YOU” to all of the three judges. I don’t know what drew you to choose my board, but I cannot say thank you sincerely enough. I am blessed, honored, thrilled, over the moon, and still a bit in shock over the news!

Krissa Rossbund is an award-winning journalist and the Senior Style Editor for Traditional Home magazine. She is a lifestyle and trend expert who shares her take on today’s modern homeowners. Her expertise covers merchandising, showhouses, entertaining and families with beautiful, timeless, and welcoming homes.

Ronda Carmen is the creative and talent behind the famous lifestyle blog ALL THE BEST BLOG. All the best blog is renowned for it’s insightful interviews and profiles with industry icons, entrepreneurs and global tastemakers. Ronda’s first book, ‘Designers At Home: Personal Reflections on Stylish Living’ will be published by Rizzoli (April 2013) and I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy.

Crystal Gentilello is the Editor in Chief of Rue Magazine. She launched the digital shelter publication in the summer of 2010 as a way to bring fresh content to a rapidly growing online design community. Crystal is considered a pioneer in digital publishing and an expert in new media and is asked to speak regularly on topics about design and social media . She’s a long time design enthusiast, who can also be found decorating spaces for her sideline interiors projects.

OLIOBOARD

Olioboard has become more than just a virtual mood board creator for me. It has become this amazing platform bringing people with a common thread together from all over the world. It’s a huge community of friends and supporters who really do care and help one another. Its co-founders Sheilah MacSporran and Cole Mackin brilliantly teamed up with Leslie Carothers of The Kaleidoscope Partnership to make it what it is today. They are forward thinkers, supportive and have a passion for helping others. #OlioLove you all!!
