I was thrilled when a little surprise was delivered to my door step earlier this week. I knew Kathryn M. Ireland’s new book, Timeless Interiors had hit the book stores and I’ve been wanting to pick up a copy. My heavy project load and holiday preparations have held me up from getting to my local book store so imagine my delight when the publisher sent me a copy to enjoy! AND the best part is…..
They sent me two copies!! One to peruse myself and one to GIVEAWAY to one of my lucky readers….can you believe it!
I could not wait until this weekend to sit down and devour the book cover to cover. It’s been sitting on my desk all week just starring at me. And I must say, it was well worth the wait! Whether you’re an Interior Designer, Decorator or a Design Enthusiast, you will truly enjoy her new book. Kathryn’s design philosophy and approach are refreshing and unique.
It is an inspiring glimpse into Kathryn’s life of Interior Decorating. From how and where she finds the beautiful furnishings that she incorporates into her spaces to the wonderful client-designer relationship, it’s all in there! For those of us who will never haven’t yet boarded a private jet to go on a 3 continent buying trip, this book is a fun retreat!
To me, Timeless Interiors is a reflection of how Kathryn’s life experiences and travels fit into her decorating philosophy. Sourcing the globe for fabulous finds, unique accents and coveted treasures is a decorators dream come true and this seems to be a big part of her life. Every piece that she incorporates has a story and that seems to play a big roll in her process. She takes the time to hear/ learn/ appreciate the story and that is evident in her beautiful and eclectic interiors.
